About MOCEANS CIL

Since 1989 MOCEANS Center for Independent Living, Inc. has serviced citizens with disabilities in New Jersey's Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Our Mission: To support and promote choice, independence and self-determination in the lives of all people with disabilities giving each individual full and equal access in the community.

What is a Center for Independent Living?

A CIL is not a place where individuals with disabilities live. Rather, it is an office and a program where individuals with disabilities learn from each other and share abilities and experiences.

What is Independent Living?

Independent Living is a philosophy and a movement of people with disabilities who work for self-determination, equal opportunities and self-respect. Independent Living means that we demand the same choices and control in our every-day lives that non-disabled people take for granted. MOCEANS CIL is a consumer driven organization run by and for people with disabilities. The consumer is at the center of the four core services.

Whatever your needs, MOCEANS Center for Independent Living, Inc. is here to help all people with disabilities in their quest to achieve a better quality of life.
